句子重音

我们在朗读英语或用英语交谈时,并不是句子中的每个词都读得一样响亮。一样清楚,而是有些词读得或说得又轻又快,而且较为含糊,有些词则读得或说得又重又慢,而且较为清晰。那些读得或说得响亮而清晰的词就是句子重音所在。重音包括单词重音和句子重音单词重音这里就不赘述了。这里主要讲讲句子重音。

句子重音的功能:

1.体现句子的节奏感和韵律感。 2.突出重点,使听者更容易理解。

哪些词在句子中需重读?

1.一般来说,在句子中需重读的词都是实词,比如,名词、动词、形容词、副词等。不重读的多为虚词,比如,冠词、连词、介词、等。例如:

  • The streets are wide and clean. (这句话中的streets是名词,wide和clean是形容词,它们都要重读;the, are, and不重读。)

    I am so glad to see you again. (这句话中的so, glad, see, again要重读,而I, am, to, you不重读。)

    2、 实词不重读的特殊情况

    a) 实词第二次出现 He thinks of that as a child thinks.

    Dialogue 1

    Fred: Would you like a drink?

    Sid: I'd love a coffee.

    Dialogue 2

    Fred: Would you like a coffee?

    Sid: I'd love a coffee

    In Sid's reply in dialogue 1 the word coffee signals a piece of new information which is not contained in Fred's question. In dialogue 2 Fred mentions coffee and so it is old information by the time Sid makes his reply. Old information does not usually receive the nucleus which is why the nucleus is love in Sid's reply in dialogue 2.

    b) 一个名词被第二个名词修饰I met her in the railway station.

    c) 代替词 Which book do you want? The small one.

    d) 感叹词中的 what how

    What a good day it is! How beautiful she is!

    e) street 在专有名词中 Wangfujing Street.

    f) this在这些短语中,this morning/afternoon/evening

    2.有时候虚词也要重读,以下几点需注意:

    a) 情态动词,助动词和系动词be在句首,句尾和否定时。

    Do you like it? Yes, I do. Are you a doctor? Yes, I am. Can you help me? Yes, I can.

    I don't like you. He isn't a worker.

    b) 情态动词表示可能,惊奇和肯定时

    They may come this evening. Can it be five already? He must be in the room.

    c) 介词在句首和句尾

    In the box, he found a letter. He is the person I talked with.

    d) 引导复合句的连词在句首。

    If you wish, I'll visit you. When he comes, I'll tell him.

    e)反身代词表示强调。

    He couldn't come himself.

    但是句子重音并不是一成不变的,我们也可不拘泥于句子重音规则,每个句子就其说话者而言都有需要强调的字词,那么我们在说这句话的时候,强调的某个词即可。此时,句中其它词的重音便相对减弱,甚至完全失去重音。因此,我们在日常交流中应该根据侧重点或思想感情的变化灵活使用句子重音,以便准确地表达出自己的意思。

  • 比如:

    I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    首先我们汉语来朗读这个句子的译文体会一下重音在不同地方的感觉:

    昨天我去了老师的办公室。

    重读黑体字

    1、昨天我去了老师的办公室。

    2昨天去了老师的办公室。

    3昨天我去了老师的办公室。

    4昨天我去了老师的办公室。

    5昨天我去了老师的办公室。

    现在英语朗读:

    1、I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    重读I强调的是我不是别人

    2、I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    重读went强调的是我去过了。

    3、I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    重读teachers强调的是老师的,不是别人的办公室。

    4、I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    重读office强调的是老师的办公室不是其他地方。

    5、I went to the teachers’ office yesterday!

    重读yesterday强调的是昨天不是其他时间。

    所以,究竟该重读那里,要看说话人需要强调什么。
